I don't have my forte connected to a receiver, but when I enable DDL through the audio control panel, windows sound changes to 5.1 and the SPDIF out shows up when I click the sound icon in the system tray. I also see this when i click on Mixer.
If you can't figure it out, I'd suggest...
Right click Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > under Startup and Recovery click Settings
You can also adjust the time that the bootloader waits until it loads the default OS.
