    Ok, to make sure I understand the gist of this. For the lower end cards, extra memory is almost irrelevant; but, on the higher end cards, it makes sense to go to 1GB. So, on crossfire/sli with medium range cards, 512MB should be fine, and anything above would be of a negligible benefit.
