Running Steam and some applications off External

Hi guys, tried doing some research and haven't found much yet. But I have a laptop and it can only hold a single drive. I plan on upgrading my SSD in my main RIG this year and I'm thinking of putting my Intel X25 80GB in my laptop. This would be fine and probably would enough for my space...

Is waiting on the 45nm worth it?

Yeah, that's just the thing. I probably should wait, but I'm having a hard time waiting anymore =P. I only have a laptop, so I don't currently have any ram. And I thought from what I was reading the other day, DDR3 really doesn't show any real significant performance increases. If I read right.

Is waiting on the 45nm worth it?

Yeah, didn't notice the DDR3 with that. How about the GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4. It uses DDR2 and I've always had good luck with Gigabyte as a brand.

Is waiting on the 45nm worth it?

ahhh... I didn't know about the X38. I was only looking at the 780i boards. How about the Intel BOXDX38BT board? I say I don't care about OC'n, mainly cause I don't like messing with it. Guess I can't say I won't do it though. But hmm. I guess I could spend about that price for an X38...

Is waiting on the 45nm worth it?

I've been without a system now for about 2 years, only getting by on my laptop =( And I've been waiting for the 45nm, since I kept telling myself that I've waited this long, might as well wait some more. But now with AMD doing horrible and Intel deciding to wait off releasing more models of...

    E6300 vs E6600

I should have said, I'm most likely going with a 680i board, most likely the evga. I don't have to go with that ram, I just knew it had good chipset and the evga mobo liked it. Trust me, I'd rather go with cheaper ram. And cheaper anything that I can get away with =P

    E6300 vs E6600

I'm going to be upgrading really soon, especially since I just got my tax return today =D And I'm having a trouble finding information, if the extra cache the E6600 has really helps or not. I've heard people say it makes all the difference and others say you'll never notice. I'd even consider...

    1680 x 1050 Rez

Thanks. It's just cause it was a rez that I really didn't recognize. And I wanted to make sure it'd be fine, cause from what I've looked around the net, most 22" and 20.1" can cost around the same price. So yeah, I'd rather have a bigger screen if the cost is the same =P I'm looking at the...

    1680 x 1050 Rez

Nah, sorry. Should have been more specific. I meant is that a streched rez, as in, if the image is stretched. Sorry if that makes no sense, makes sense in my head =\ Kinda like on a widescreen tv, when you take normal cable broadcasting and you can use an option and strech the image to fit...

    1680 x 1050 Rez

I've noticed on all(most) of the 22"s out on the market, they have a 1680 x 1050 rez. Is that a stretched rez or not, cause I can't remember. I have dual 19"s LCDs right now, but I'm looking at getting rid of one and gettinga widescreen and thought I might as well get something a lil...

Need to buy a new hard drive

What size you looking at getting? But I think a Seagate Baracuda or Hitachi Deskstar are getting good ratings right now. And it's the same. SATA is serial ATA, cause you have SATA and PATA, drives.

    The need for kilowatt PSUs

Thanks. What I figured, but just wanted to see what others thought/knew about the matter. And XBarbarian, awesome. I have a 37" Westy, mainly used for my 360/Wii, like to use with my PC, but don't know if I'll ever buy a vid card really capable of pushing good performance with it. For I'd...

    The need for kilowatt PSUs

I'm wondering, since I haven't really followed everything that's been going on in the PC world for almost a year now, is the need of kilowatt PSUs. When does it become a need for one? When your running high end Processors and using SLi or Crossfire? Usually when I build a PC, mine are...

    Best Motherboard for Price

Yeah, I think if I have the chance to upgrade soon, I will be going with the Intel Bad Axe II. You can get OEM around 200$$. Cause I really have no clue how much I'll be trying to OC or not, so just be best to get a good stable board with overclocking ability.
