Hi, the drives with the cc24 firmware are the latest drives, they dont have an update, and dont need any. I am using them in a raid array but not with an LSI-controller.

I am using 8 of them in a raid5 since ~ 1/2 year + 2 as single drives and no problems so far. So i bought another 16 for a second raid 5 which is actually on init. They all came with about 2 years waranty.

So, finaly my last 3TB-Drives arrived. I will post some pics ans stats of my Storage. After raid init 8x3TB Raid 5 + 16x3TB Raid 5 it means a total space of 60TB usable for my Win2008R2-Server in one case. I wonder how long it will take to create the 16x3TB raid since the first array took ~18...

It really seems to be those I2C Connector-Cables. Now the Next step is, how do i use them, do i need to use them? As far as i see, they are for the HDD-LEDs, arent they controlled over the SAS-Cable? Some Pictures i took today:

I already searched for the manual, but the vendors website doesnt even list the chassis... maybe someone else has a little more luck, my chassis part no is RMC5E2-QI-XPSS-ML Right, it doesnt have SFF8087 connectors, it has SFF8470.

Maybe, there are 12 pcs of this cables, 2 for each backplane "etage" (which itself holds 4 drives). But where to connect? i have a HP expander, but no pins for this cables ^^
