US “Six Strikes” Anti-Piracy Scheme Is Dead

The only notice I ever received was from Napster asking for my contact information to forward to Metallica. I refused and switched To Napigator and never looked back. Never got a notice since then.

    Lawsuits Suck for TechDirt.com

How does claiming that this guy did not invent email cause him harm that is fixed by giving him money? Is he losing royalties because of these claims? Hell, how many doctors' offices are still using his program? The only reason I have heard of him is because of the stories about his claims...

    Lawsuits Suck for TechDirt.com

So, the 1st Amendment protects speech based upon the financial resources of the writer/speaker? I guess that is why Peter Thiel's butt-hurt is so powerful. The 1st Amendment defends our points of view, not cash. If you want to be a whole and place a monetary value on your rights, that is your...

Anti-Surveillance Clothing Hide Wearers From Facial Recognition

I think the best use for this technology is for a large number of people to use it. Kind of like the old "Jam Echelon Day." A collective middle-finger to the Man, so he has less data, more noise.

Battlefield 1 - Low FPS with newer CPU

I have an 8320, and noticed mine wasn't running games as fast as it had in the past. Checked my clocks, and they were around 1.5. When I changed the power management profile from energy-saving to performance, they jumped up to 3.5. Hope this helps.

Star Citizen Switching To Amazon's Lumberyard Game Engine

So, how many pre-made game engines did Chris Roberts switch to when he made Wing Commander? Or was that a flop because of lack of in-game purchases and game engines with pre-made assets, and having to code for PCS when they weren't all 100% compatible (Tandy/IBM, CGA/EGA/VGA, Ad-Lib/Roland, etc.)?

Big-Ass Phones Need To Die In A Fire

I am personally grateful for the large phones. I got an iPhone 6 Plus to replace my 4 after having blood vessels burst in both of my eyes. It is real nice to be able to see the screen without having to use the magnifying functions.

I think it sounds more like you may have done something to the motherboard, since it won't even turn on.

Nvidia announcement livestream 5/6/2016 @6PM PST

Thinking I had malware, as I heard some twat talking while I was checking out HardOCP. Exited the browser, came back, and it happened again. Just what I always asked for as an improvement to the site, auto-playing videos from people too sorry to make a press release. Oh, why can people be so...
