    Computer for Hi-Def video editing/burning to blu-ray

Rendering will probably be done with the CPU to avoid a costly graphics card, but maybe that's not the best option? Sony Vegas will be used to edit/render. Thank you for your helpful feedback, especially on comparable encoding times for that setup.

$1500 Gaming PC Build Review (Have Prelim Build)

If 70c isn't bad then I'll just leave it alone, I'm really happy with the performance and lack of issues I've had so far. I did see some people use their old nvidia cards for PhysX and I tried it, but it didn't go so well. Windows auto installed a driver on startup for it and then defaulted...

$1500 Gaming PC Build Review (Have Prelim Build)

I really didn't know, the manual that came with the graphics card is useless and I hadn't read that. That's a pretty awesome design though, and good to know I won't have layout problems.

$1500 Gaming PC Build Review (Have Prelim Build)

I got my parts and put the PC together last night. This morning I went after wrapping cables up and making it look nicer than it did and at least getting the lid on. I've got a program to read temperatures and I wonder if I've done something wrong or not. My idle temps max at about 40 degrees...

$1500 Gaming PC Build Review (Have Prelim Build)

Thank you for the comments on the motherboard. I now see the distinct difference in listing between intel sockets even though I have to read up on why they changed sockets. I like the idea of triple channel memory and hear great things about overclocking the i7 920 with the asus board so I went...

New Home Audio Setup Torturing Me!

Ok thanks, the cheap HDMI cable was killin the cable. I still have to try the PS3 tomorrow and will post back if I have problems. I really appreciate the help, it was very frustrating thinking I wouldn't get anything back the way it was even before after all day messing with it.

New Home Audio Setup Torturing Me!

The Viera is an LCD TV. I took the advice about the bad HDMI cable as I had a cheap one, and it's moved more forward one step and back one. Good thing, my speakers now work fine, bad thing is my TV isn't showing the image....I'm pretty sure it's because my receiver can't upgrade a component in...

New Home Audio Setup Torturing Me!

I got everything setup and working as I intend now except the subwoofer. I have the subwoofer labeled on the receiver end plugged into the subwoofer back, the power is on for the subwoofer. It's about 1/4 between min and max level and I left the crossover at 50hz. I play rock on the radio...

    Stardock Impulse?!

I didn't like impulse. I installed it and it kept trying to send unapproved information out when I booted my computer (and the program was set to not automatically start) so I uninstalled it. As far as a downloading service it is leaps and bounds ahead of stardock central, but it is still...

Lord of the Rings: Online - any good?

You aren't likely to find a trial right now. With the recent release of Mines of Moria the server load is high so they've temporarily stopped the typical 14 day trials. I upgraded to lifetime for LoTR last December and I'm still enjoying myself after all this time. I'm pretty casual though...
