    Hmmm didn't realize HDMI was limited to 50hz at that resolution. The monitor comes with a cable for both so I guess I might have to give that a try first and see how it looks. I appreciate the information.

    I just ordered the LG 34UC97 Curved 34" monitor. My GTX 980 and this monitor both have a displayport option. Any thoughts on which I should use? The HDMI or the displayport? Seems to me from what I'm reading the displayport is the superior option.
