Considering I just bought a RTX 2080 from NewEgg for $633 ($720 - 10% instant discount - $15 rebate), the Radeon VII is most definitely NOT cheaper for anyone watching for deals. Even without discounts, they're easy to find for $700. I really hope AMD does well with this card as nVidia needs...

If these rumors are true, I could see swapping my 2700X out for a 3700X.

I'm really hoping the 3700X stays in the AM4 socket. I could easily justify a processor swap, but not sure I'd want to replace a motherboard and monoblock.

The Touring slides showed RT being computed in parallel not asynchronously. This is a big difference. When doing computations in parallel, the frame is not complete until ALL elements are rendered. In this case we are seeing the RT elements taking much more time than the rasterized elements...
