That's impressive. Power usage of each system would be intersting to know..
I wonder if vending machines at Intel also dispense heart burn medication, or if they're just dumping it into the company drinking king water?
Considering I just bought a RTX 2080 from NewEgg for $633 ($720 - 10% instant discount - $15 rebate), the Radeon VII is most definitely NOT cheaper for anyone watching for deals. Even without discounts, they're easy to find for $700.
I really hope AMD does well with this card as nVidia needs...
I'm really hoping the 3700X stays in the AM4 socket. I could easily justify a processor swap, but not sure I'd want to replace a motherboard and monoblock.
The Touring slides showed RT being computed in parallel not asynchronously. This is a big difference. When doing computations in parallel, the frame is not complete until ALL elements are rendered. In this case we are seeing the RT elements taking much more time than the rasterized elements...
I've been using this as a boot drive since the X470 launch. Works great for me. I can install everything I want to my C drive without worrying about it filling up super fast like when I previously only used an SSD for my C drive.
I still have a second NVMe for things that I want to be...
Temperature correction:
My previous CPU temp was from my memory and I got it wrong. The actual CPU temp with a 4.2OC @ 1.425v is 76c at full load after 4hr.
Thanks. I've been building my own computers for forever (think AMD Socket A era). I've had doing a custom water cooling loop on my buck list for almost as long. After my latest upgrades to a 2700X and a 1070Ti, now seemed to be the right time.
I did cool it on air for a while, but I don't...
After 4hr of Prime95 + Unigine Heaven:
CPU with a 4.2 OC = 68c in AMD Master
GPU at stock clock = 43c (haven't tried oveclocking yet)
I may add a sight glass for checking coolant level, or change my fill tube to a clear ridigid tube a couple of inches long to provide a mini resivior. I'm...
I just completed my first custom water cooled loop. My case has no side windows, so it only has to be functional, not pretty. Having said that, I did try to keep it reaonably clean.
Flow order: Pump ==> GPU ==> CPU ==> Radiator ==> {pump}...
As noted in the title, I elected to not use a...
I saw Solo twice. I enjoyed it both times.
I thought the SJW and the "pansexual" angles really came across as the comic relief of the movie. Definitely a much different feel than with TLJ.
It might not be the best movie ever, but I think it's better than the box office rates indicate.
I am using StoreMI for a boot drive that pairs a 256GB NVMe with a 2TB HDD. It's great. I can install to my C drive all day long without worrying about running out of space (unlike with only a SSD). Things I use are fast. Things I don't use are probably slow... I don't know, I don't use...
I might be missing your point, but there are quite a few retailers who accept bitcoin, and not just sketchy ones. In the computer world, Tiger Direct does. Newegg, Amazon, Ebay, and Paypal have all indicated that they expect to be accepting them in the near future.
There is serious damage. I ordered 4x drives from NE a couple of years ago. They arrived with large dents in them from bouncing against each other during shipping. Only one of them worked. I RMA'd all 4 of them.
I'm fairly certain that with radiators that thick, it is actually illegal to not use fans in a push-pull configuration. :p
My preference would be to use it in a single large loop as follows:
GFX ==> 360 Radiator ==> Pump ==> CPU ==> 360 Radiator ==> Pump ==> [back to GFX]
converting to FPS from frame time data is simple:
assume: frame time is in milliseconds
FPS = 1000 / (time_now - time_last)
in Excel this might look like: =1000/(A2-A1)
I don't mind frame time graphs, but given the community is used to seeing FPS graphs it doesn't seem like a...
An attempt to kill Bitcoin (or any "uncontrolled" digital currency) is absolutely a top priority from the government's perspective. A successful alternative currency that bypasses the central reserve will destroy the US government. It's not a matter of if, but when the gov't goes into full...
Guess who's about to get raided by the DEA... :eek:
Run one water input line and one outlet line per row of cards to allow running the coolant flow in parallel. These main lines should be tapered, but it's probably not a deal killer... maybe.
Install quick disconnects on both lines...
When I purchased mine, there was one sitting at the computer parts service desk and one in the glass cabinet against the wall, both new. I'm not aware of anymore than those two at that location.
I can confirm this deal at the Twin Cities, MN Microcenter location. I just picked one up this morning for $105. Blew my mind when it range up.

Unfortunately, benchmarks tend to be a bit deceiving when evaluating physX performance. A dedicated card only helps during game play that is stressful to the main card by offloading the physX calculations. A 3fps average increase in a benchmark will probably indicate a substantial performance...
In my opinion, the main ATX cable should run into one of the closer grommets all of the rest of your power supply wire are running into. Other than that, nice job.
Here's my experience so far.
I play with a GTX 660Ti for my main card and a GTX460 dedicated to PhysX. I have a multi-monitor set-up, but only game on the center screen at 1080p. I keep GPU-Z open right next to my gaming screen so I can watch the load meter for the physX gpu. I have...
I'm hoping to test some slower cards in the near future. For reference, the GTX 460 768mb is roughly 3x the physx power of a 9800gt.
My guesses:
1) 9800gt is better than a cpu if you're dying to get some physx action on a low end computer.
2) Paired with a relatively slow card (maybe a 560Ti...
The minimum reported frame rate was inconsistent. I believe this was due to stutters during scene changes. The maximum frame rate increased in all cases when both cards were used, so I suspect the true minimums may have as well.
After seeing the Borderlands2 PhysX demo I have been inspired to try testing a dedicated card for physx processing.
My computer is a Intel i7-2600k overclocked to 4.4Ghz with 16GB of DDR3-1600 ram. My main graphics card is a GTX 660 Ti. I had a GTX 460 laying around, so I put that in my...
