Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I hopped on this deal on the 24th while the post count on this thread was still below 15. My ship date hasn't ever changed, and they even upgraded me to free overnight shipping. Well, my order total was roughly $227.00 with tax/S&H. I saw another thread that said eVGA had the 8800GT SSC...
For only $75.00 more than that MSI card I already had on order from Dell!? I dropped Dell like the bad egg this deal stinks of, and ordered up and SSC from eVGA.
They still had them in stock as of 12/8/07 11:45am PST.
$307.00 out the door and delivered. Not bad considering the market...
Greetings all, I don't post often (mostly read/lurk) but I was one of the early birds on the 24th to get in on this deal. My ship date still says 12/10/07 so I decided to chat it up with the Dell online folks as some before me have. The results (while I did get upgrading shipping) were...
Thanks for all the input!
I know that the backplane on the PE2850 is just fine as I can use the onboard SCSI LSI controller (the ROMB) to access SCSI drives just fine.
I ran some more tests the other night with the LSI Logic 320-2 PCI-X card. It seems it will do RAID0 and RAID1 arrays...
Ok... I've been scratching my head on this one for a couple days now and am just about ready to tear out my hair.
I've got a Dell Poweredge 2850 with ROMB and a 1x6 SCSI U320 backplane. I plan to install Win2k3 Enterprise SR1 on it.
I have the following hard drives in the corresponding...
Wonderful! I've pulled this stunt with IDE and Floppy cables before, but wasn't sure if I'd be compromising SCSI integrity with a mod like this.
Thanks for the quick reply!
:)
I ran a few forum searches before posting this and couldn't find anything directly relevant.
I have a "Tripplite" 68pin U320 cable from another server that I'd like to use in a new Dell PE2850 that I just received for a client. I'm running it to a brand new LSI Megaraid 64bit card...
My 3800+ is OC'd to 2.4 Ghz and is stable at 1.425 volts. When I was first experimenting with this CPU I started following the old axiom that more Mhz = more volts. Doesn't seem to be true in this case. I started out at 1.475 volts and started working my way up, but it never was completely...
Voltage is as follows:
CPU: 1.450v set in BIOS, shows up between 1.472v and 1.52v in CPU-Z
RAM: 2.7v set in BIOS (G.Skill rated between 2.6 and 2.8, so I chose the happy medium).
Mobo and Chipset: 1.6v and 1.25 (higher of the options on a Asus A8N-SLI Prem)
Cooling solutions are noted...
