Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I haven't had any keyboard issues at all, I will however point out I don't know what bios is running atm. Other than that I have had nothing but great experience with it as well as 2 of my friends who went out and bought them.
That recall is not relevent to the P105 series or any other series sold in the US. I have the above mentioned laptop and I love it. Takes any game I throw at it at max settings without an issue.
The 7800GTX will run all those games at max or near max resolutions. You might also want to look at the laptops with the 7900GS as it is a very nice card too. Toshiba P105-S9312, Dell E1705/9400 both come with the 7900GS. the 9700 and 6800 are both a bit outdated but the 6800 should run most...
YOu should have no problems with SP2. Also I would like to point out that in Oct MS is going to drop support for SP1 systems so that means you pretty much have to get SP2.
iirc minimal power management means windows will not shut off devices when using Ac to conserve power. Some network adapters get confused when they are shut down for no apparent reason.
Hmmm....the drive failing is odd. I have the exact same model and have never had a problem with it in the month I have owned it. FEAR plays beautifully on it. Max resolution with everything on high. Absolutely stunning :D I don't play Wow but I do play GuildWars so I know what you are...
Might I suggest the Toshiba P105-S9312. Intel T2500, 256mb 7900gs, 2GB DDR2 667, 200GB Hard drive, and all the other bells and whistles you would expect for 1999.00 from bestbuy and circuit city. Hope that helps. You can also check out the Dell e1705 which has very similar specs to the toshiba.
Don't know about the chat function but a few guys I know on another forum just got their hypersonics so I know they are still in business. I also went and config'd a CX7 so that is working too. Hope this helps you out:D
