Thanks for the input. I currently have M50s, which don't really require amplification, and I don't see myself changing those anytime soon. I don't use surround sound, and my speakers are a 15 year old Altec Lansing 2.1 set that are still kicking, surprisingly. I imagine I'll have to replace...
I'm strongly considering going with the MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING mobo for a 4670k build. The onboard audio includes a headphone amp, SoundBlaster Cinema, and what looks to be like a general emphasis toward slightly better audio. I also have the opportunity to grab a Xonar Essence STX for a too good...
I already know that Ivy is better for overclocking, but I only keep my 3570k at to 4.2 stably. Any more (like 4.6), and I get random crashes when playing games, despite extensive testing showing that all is ok.
My 3570k is paired with an ASRock Z77 Extreme4, and cooled by a Corsair H100i...
I hope I haven't posted this in the wrong place, but I was wondering if this was a good deal for this card. I was initially intending to wait till Black Friday for a possible deal.

It will be paired with an...
Haha, thanks. I got a bit click happy and ordered it already. So, now I guess I'm overclocking. I already have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO lying around from a previous build, and I think I'm gonna go with an Asrock Z77 Extreme3 for $120 (and an extra $30 rebate on top). The question is...
Is an Intel Core i5-3570K for $179.97 a good deal, worth $50 more than the i3-3220 or i3-2130, and more importantly, do you think it'll get much cheaper than that before Feb?
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing?
-I will be using it as a general PC with a slight trend towards Games. I have a PS3 for almost all of my gaming and a Laptop for most computing, but I'd like a PC to run things like the new SimCity well, Starcraft 3...
Naw, $50 after rebate...

Cool...My instructions were to make it strong, so thats what I aimed to do. He has a history of trying to stretch out a computer for a decade if he can (so do I).
How much should the video card have been....I didn't think $50 was that bad.
If I'm not overclocking then I figure I can definitely go with the H77 mobo. The i5-3450 looks like it should do the job...or the 3550 for 20 bucks extra.
Thanks for the advice.
The PSU was a leftover from a server build that I was gonne use since it was modular (partially) but I'll check out the others.
The RAM is Genesis (KHX1600C9D3K2), which is listed at 1.65v
The video card, I dunno if I'll bother to change to save 10 bucks...unless...
I just had to return my SGO2 as I realized it was gonna be inadequate (tight and hot). I just really wanted to go with a small build (which turned out wasn't even that small). Anyways, I've since abandoned the tiny desktop in favor of better performance since this computer isn't for me and I'm...
