    Not everyone is cool with playing games at 20 fps. I have a q6600 at 3.5 on a clean install of windows 7 with 4gb ram and a 4870 1gb and it the game runs like shit even on low/medium settings. that is of course unless im standing in an empty field with no AI other players around.

    yeah this game is lacking much polish and I think you are thinking about the revolutionary war not the civil war ^^^ Civil war was closer to world war 1 in terms of tactics I believe. Lots of trenches and fortified positions with artillery raining on anything in between.

    I believe quake 4 was made by raven also. I really enjoyed the quake 4 singleplayer and it seems that Raven knows how to use the Doom 3 engine fairly well. I might be picking this up too.

    If Z fighting is the problem it might never be fixed unless they use a z buffer with more precision. I think they are 24 bit in most games. I'm not sure if you can use a z buffer greater than 24 bits with modern hardware.
