In a very dark room a bit of lightbleed can be seen at lower left corner, not visible in normal lighting...A slight warm caste at same location but using colorcomp +2 the panel is absolutely uniform to my eye...To me this is a very high quality piece of kit...especially for photo editing,also...
This is my first decent monitor..Been using an old LG TN for years...I don't game,I watch a few movies but mostly general web stuff and photo editing..First impression,WOW..much heavier than I thought it would be,great build quality.Very good packaging from B&H and NEC..I could not afford the...
As I don't game, mostly basic photo editing,a few movies and general web stuff I I ordered the NEC PA231W yesterday,be here tues...I couldn't afford spectraview or i1d2 just now so got a hueypro just for colors...TFT has profiles and settings as a starting point also..I have not found any user...
Thanks for the images and opinions on the two panels...I'm just a bit concerned buying from Dell due to the hassle stories I read about if you need to RMA the monitor...I can get an NEC or HP from a trusted store with a great return policy...Although it's 3,000 miles away,Bob
Yes, I hate it but I keep going back to the NEC PA231W. I mean because of the cost...I can't afford the spectraview package so can't take advantage of the hardware LUT calibration...Maybe the rather cheap hueypro just for color calibration...$90.....thanks,Bob
So how much do I need to spend to get a panel with little bleed and with good color uniformity? NEC 2490v2,$660,nec PA231W $580? Man,thats a bunch for my use but I hate to buy a panel and play the RMA game..
That Asus does look good so far but it is wide gamut and I want standard gamut,I don't want to deal with the color management with my printer and online stuff...Thanks for the replys,Bob
Those that have or used one of them, which would you prefer? Not for gaming, general web use and basic photo editing only...I read here a lot of panels going back to Dell due to backlight bleed and color uniformity..The HP seems to have poor black depth...Is this not true or?? Thanks for opinions,
Is there much or any changes to the panel quality between revision 01 to 02? I was about to lay out $600 for a new monitor but that is very hard to justify for basic photo editing and general web use..I stayed away from dell due to all the horror stories I've read about returns etc. but it seems...
Not a lot of input from users on this panel...Anyone using this monitor what are your thoughts please? Especially backlight bleed and color uniformity across the panel..I'm sure the colors are great, especially when calibrated..How about black depth and detail in dark areas..Not for gaming,mostly...
I understand what you are saying...I missed out on a refurb. 2490v2 from NEC for $540,comes with a one year warranty..It is sold...I think the 24" would be easier with text on these old eyes also...B&H has always been very good to deal with..15 days return no questions...Thanks again,Bob
Thank you all for the advice...Albovin,so you feel the 2490v2 comes factory calibrated close enough for use without calibration 'till I can save for a proper device compared to the PA231W? I use two DSLR's,one crop body, one FF and four "L" lens..I print on a canon i9900 using oem ink and...
I want one of these two panels..Only one review each,Prad for Eizo and TFTcentral for the NEC..I see a few here have used the EV2333W but not one that I can find has used the NEC PA231W..Can anyone here give me their advice on these two? I don't game, just basic photo editing, general web...
The 2490 refurb is the version2....Still a lot of panel for $540,yes? Actually more than I need,as I say I just want a panel with uniform color across the screen in sRGB...Well,as uniform as possible...
