Whats wrong with Pure? we're actually looking at SolidFire, Pure, Nimble, and 1 or 2 others, so i'm curious what i might need to watch out about with Pure.
what lab do you have it in? a home lab? VMware quoted us 100k$ last month to put it in our lab, and told us it REQUIRES a PSO engagement, no doing it ourselves. NSX is cool stuff, but short of fortune 1000 companies, i dont see anyone implementing it for the next 3+ years. and they appear to be...
I run MOVE on our vdi environment at work. 500ish VMs, both linked clones and now Unidesk. 10 hosts. Move works well enough but you never quite know what it's doing. If you like being able to explain what a product is doing, sequence if events, etc, Move isn't good for that. If you want to meet...
Anyone know if it's possible to point OneDrive (on a windows7 box) to sync specific folders, but configure it to point to like D: or E: drives only? my primary drive is a 128gb SSD and thats where OneDrive places its folder. however, i want to upload pretty much everything from my D and E drives...
I've got a crucial ballistix ddr3 1600mhz kit already, 2 sticks x 4gb. im wanting to increase my ram to 16gb because i constantly get low resource alerts from windows with the way i use my computer. my question is can i add a second 2x4gb kit without any issue? ive got an asus m5a97 r2.0 mobo...
Figured out if you download and place the win8/server2012 .ADMX files into c:\windows\policydefinitions\ on your win8 device, then open up GPMC it will automatically load the new ADMX options into any GPO you open. nothing manual has to be done, all the options just show up automatically.
I'm trying to setup some GPO's to manage windows 8 devices. I've got a win8.1 update 1 device on the domain, ive downloaded RSAT for 8.1 and installed it on the device, and downloaded the win8.1 GPO files (admx templates). But when I open up group policy management and edit a GPO, add a...
Asus M5A97 R2.0 is ~80 bucks at microcenter on sale (and seems to be permanently on sale), ddr3 1600 without OC, USB 3.0 rear + internal headers, heatsinked VRM's, 3 sys-fan PWM headers. I have one for myself and have been very happy with it.
one is micro-atx and one is mini-atx. i've never had either, but they're different somehow in size.
yeah, for decent MOBO's there's absolute crap for choice outside of standard ATX. I would have loved to get an AMD model of the Asus GENE boards but they dont exist :(
Is there a form-factor limitation we need to know about? like must be uATX or mATX?
Microcenter has an FX-6300+Asus m5a97 bundle for 179$. 6 cores @ 3.5ghz, multiplier unlocked, USB 3.0, handles 32gb ram up to 2133mhz, and the mobo has heatsinked VRM's if you want to do some overclocking...
you should probably do some benchmarking to see exactly WHAT is causing your performance to suck, MSI Afterburner should be able to record your CPU and GPU usage while you play, so you can see what's going on and then respond accordingly.
microcenter has a few bundles that may work for you.

the fx-6100 + mobo deal might be what you'd like.
hit up amazon or ebay right now. Microsoft is selling 64gb RT's w/ touch cover for 99$ at TechEd this year, and 128gb Pro models for 399 and there are a TON of people trying to sell theirs at a profit right now, and they've started undercutting each other to try and get theirs sold. microsoft...
