    Thanks for the reply - I've tried both USB ports, to no avail. The network card is onboard. On stopping the apache service, I get a bit more speed, but not back to full strength - even killing all apache-related processes doesn't help. Only turning the camera off or unplugging the camera...

    While I understand you want to use this project to practice your brazing, might I recommend you bend the aluminium sheets into shape from one piece for the drive cage and possibly the bottom & sides of the case? E.g. Not only does it look nicer, but brazing might be a bit fiddly for this...

    ITX Mobo (M81ENT-FX) - keyboard stops working after a few seconds

    Well, figured it out, and feel like a fool :P Issue was when I originally installed the heatsink onto the CPU, a hair got in there. This was enough to cause a thermal issue, but for some reason the computer wouldn't shut off. Just locked up. Problem solved, another lesson learnt.
