    Are cheaper cards more prone to coil whine, looking at two diff 2070's.

    I've found coil whine to happen most often on cards that draw a lot of power (200W and above). Though my only recent tests took place over the past couple of years -- 900s and 1070s/1080s; the last card I owned that had serious whine was the 7970). Just a data point from me.

    I wish I could still say the same for myself. I swore off used, but then I saw a good deal and had a good feel from the seller after seeing where they live (i.e. not a miner). Prices can stay high since nVidia just priced the existing previous gen cards into the current lineup.

    This is pretty much why you also never see prices drop when nvidia cards are EOL. Control over pricing. They would sooner set the cards on fire than see them sell for a discounted price.
