    LG APPLE UltraFine 5K Display

I work with construction drawings all day, and 5K on a 27" is not a waste. I can see far more of the blueprints than I can see in 4K and lower resolutions. I use windows 10 on 175% dpi and I don't lose that much work space. I'm ready for that 8K resolution. I wonder if that would eliminate...

    Samsung 28UD590

Yeah I'm going to keep it. I tried another displayport to hdmi cable and it didn't work so it must be the video card. While I was in the store I found one that was reasonably price at $150 that would work with my power supply. Now it's running great @ 60hz Thanks for your input guys.

    Samsung 28UD590

I got to admit though, it's still very nice at 2560x1440 @ 60hz. I forgot how working at 60hz feels like. But I need the extra space pixels for work. I'm going to try a different displayport to hdmi and see if it works. If not I'll just have to with the dell monitor. I know they have some...

Is there a reason why the displayport to hdmi adapter is not working?

    Yeah, I tried that too.

    Samsung 28UD590

Yeah I'm starting to think that I would need a different video card to run it. At least one that has an HDMI output to run it at 30hz. I was hoping a displayport to hdmi would at least have me running at 30hz but it doesn't even recognize the monitor. I knew that my card would've probably...

    Samsung 28UD590

I know, but it can still run the Dell P2815Q at 3840 x 2160 (30Hz). I think I'll just going to send back the samsung and stick with dell.

    Samsung 28UD590

I just bought a samsung 28ud590 because it was on sale. I'm about to return it because I can't get it to show the 3840x2160. I just wanted to see if I'm missing something. At work I have a Dell P2815Q that runs at 3840x2160 @ 30hz on a Quado FX 580 video card using a mini display port cord...

Using a 4K TV as a monitor (Non gaming)

Wow, thanks for the tip GoldenTiger, I did not realize they had a similar size and price that could run at 60hz.

Using a 4K TV as a monitor (Non gaming)

Haha wow I feel so silly right about now. Thanks for your reply Pbassjunk. For some reason I was thinking that a 55" would provide more content space. I forgot that resolution doesn't work that way. Heck in that case I'll be better off buying another 28" 4K Monitor or better yet a 5K" Monitor.

Using a 4K TV as a monitor (Non gaming)

I'm in the construction industry and in the past few years we have gone to onscreen review of blueprints instead of paper. Standard size for me is 30"x42" and 36"x24". I never considered using a TV as a monitor because I started with a Dell 30" monitor at 2560 x 1600. Then I moved to a...
