Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just for sake of argument, there are going to be 32 Vista SKUs.
9 Client (x86 and x64) (18)
5 Server (x86/x64) (10)
1 IA64 Server (IA64) (1)
3 Support CDs (OPK/WDK/SDK)
Everyone happy?
My understanding is that Xeon's are the worst you can get if you're looking for low-noise. You can always go liquid-cooling and that should reduce most of your noise (get an Active PFC power supply.)
unhappy, it's a sweet mobo
I'm only running 4GB right now, but I plan to upgrade to 8GB in the next couple of months.
I'm just debating about running WS03 x64 Enterprise now. I think it'll give a significant performance bump than XP64.
Well, you didn't mention the brand of laptop nor the brand of the video chipset, so it'll be hard to help at all. I won't get your hopes up, however. Drivers are (generally) the last phase of OS development to be perfected, so you'll likely have to make-do with 1024x768 until a better driver...

I've updated my board and it's working fine. There are some obvious changes to the BIOS menus, but that's about it.
Performance values haven't changed.
Why not just install XP64 clean? If you do this, then I can help you better from there...
Personally, I never upgrade an operating system, even if it's supported or not.
Yup, I'd have to agree. Go with an Athlon64 X2 (3.8) and you can build a decent system for around $500, depending on how "cheap" you want to go. (I'm referring to cheaper parts versus the higher quality, but more expensive parts.)
With that, I don't know if you'll even need SLI. You may...
This happens on my Intel Xeon system (with XP32) at work. My Opteron (with XP64) doesn't like it I guess. I've sent mail to Apple on this... I may try uninstalling QT all-together and re-installing it. It's possible something didn't get updated correctly.
BTW, movie trailers work just fine.
