    There are just too many subjective variables to say one is definitively better than the other for many of the aforementioned use cases. FW900 has awesome contrast, yet so many LCDs murder it in ANSI contrast. Which one makes more of a difference? Probably depends on the content? Probably...

    Even if you compare the FW900 to whatever LCD you can't say it's categorically better. LCDs are certainly sharper for one, yet CRTs have their aforementioned strengths as well. As with any long-running "which is better" discussion, it really only comes down to how the individual person values...

    I believe the 2090UXi was the only 4:3 NEC with A-TW. There used to be this link on Google that listed all monitors with A-TW when I searched something like "monitors with a-tw polarizer" but it doesn't show up in search results anymore -_-

    other than wattage, what should you look for?

    blow some cash on the PSU..read reviews and get something that's practically reference. it'll outlast the rest of your build and be worth it in the long run.

    what is commonly referred to as 'dynamic contrast' = cheating, but local dimming = awesome. anyway last i checked (few months) smallest local dimming set was 50" and over a grand.

    Only if "backlit" = "local dimming" else NEC's still has the polarizer. I really would like to see local dimming in computer monitors, but the smallest thing i've seen w/ that is 50" lol.
