I have 2007wfp and 2209wa side by side.
The 2007wfp is significantly better. It has higher apparent contrast where the 2209 seems to have a hazy overcast of light in high contrast scenes. The blacks are deeper (for an lcd) on the 2007wfp.
Seen alone the 2209wa looks good. But side by side the...
Everyone is greatly overestimating power needs.
I run a Corsair HX520
q6600 o/c to 3.0ghz
5870
6 hdd's
No problem running 3 monitor eyefinity at 5040x1050.
I recently changed from a 3870 to 5870. When I switched the cards and booted up win7, the ati catalyst thing said I had no adapter. So I installed 10.7 and rebooted and it worked fine. Press F8 before windows boots and try last known good. Then reinstall the driver.
I just added a 5870 to my system
q6600@3ghz
4gb ram
p5e-vm
corsair hx520
5 hdd's
The 5870 doesn't need that much power. Even with the cpu overclock the 5870 is fine. You don't need 600-700w for this setup, only for xfire or the 5970.
With this setup I can run every game at 1680x1050 at max...
I have
q6600
3870
4gb ram
Bad company 2 at 1680x1050 is pretty damn choppy on this card at higher quality settings (not fsaa, just textures high, etc). Dropping to 1440x900 gives a massive boost but looks crap if that's not your native res.
I have both monitors here. The 2007fpw is more uniform, shifts less when view angle changes and has deeper blacks. I'm still debating whether or not to keep the 2209wa.
Ok received mine today.
For reference, I have the 2007wfp also (S-IPS A04 rev). Using DVI from ATI 3870.
The right 1/6th is slightly darker than the rest, and the right 1/3 as a whole, isn't quite matched with the center and left 1/3rd.
Blacks - hmmmm, doesn't go as deep as my 2007 and...
