    IBM thinkpad T42p 1.8ghz PM 1024mb ram screen brightness full 9-cell extended battery I can get an average of 5 1/2 hours just browsing/note taking and I played doom 3 on battery power for 3 hours and 10 minutes

    Going wireless without router

    I attend North carolina state university, and I don't have a problem accessing the wireless network in my dorm room, even though my dorm is not wired. Depending on where your dorm is, how thick the walls are, and how for the closest wireless building is, you might be able to access it anyway...

    My Laptop Journey...IBM T42 need discount advice (edu)

    I have a t42p, 1.8ghz PM, 1024 MB ram, 60gb hd @7200 rpm, 128mb ati giregl t2, and the extended nine cell battery. It runs great, sometime gets a little hot when im playing games, but it runs them well, and the battery life is phenomenal! I can play doom 3 on high for 3.5 hours on a charge...

    trouble with omegas

    I just installed the latest omega drivers on my thinkpad, and the performance of far cry went from great to greater, but now doom 3 will not run at all. I click it and the loading screen comes up (the one that says "doom 3" and you can still see your desktop behind it), but then it goes away...
