yes it is a bottle neck. I had the 2500k and it was overclocked with a 1080 that i had to overclock as well to have a good steady FPS during battlegrounds. I sold the 2500k and got a 8600k keeping my 1080. All i can say is WOW. I can play ultra settings now without overclocking my 1080 or cpu...
hahaha i haven't done a overclock since the sandybridge until now. I should try to push this overclock to 5.1 hoping to squeeze only a little more voltage.
I have reached a stable 5.0ghz at 1.34v only at 68c. I played around with LLC and disabled the c states. C state and speed step would have my voltage a bit higher and a larger vdroop.
