Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks,
Who knows? I like OCCT, but I am curious about the temps.I had to jack up the vcore a notch to get OCCT to run for an hour without a crash, and I would think with higher vcore, it would run hotter.I don't know. No biggie, just being anal.
Hi, all
Whenever I run OCCT for an hour, my core temps (according to CoreTemp) always stay at 45-46C. When I run TAT, they go right to 55-56C and stay there.
Does anyone have any idea why TAT runs higher? Is TAT pushing the CPU harder?
Just curious.
Thanks,
Mike
I know you are trying to do this alone, but sometimes it's worth it to take it to a Computer repair shop with a good reputation to have them troubleshoot it for you. They may have the parts to swap in and out to isolate your problem. There's no logic in spending money on new parts until you do...
Just a thought, here. In some instances, your monitor may not be able to receive DVI signals until you actually get to boot up and have the OS install the appropiate drivers or at least the basic drivers for your DVI signal. If your video card and monitor have a RGB connector, or adapters in and...
Thanks, I'll keep checking for it. I know what you mean about operating under the influence, so to speak. I went out the night I built my previous PC and had the brilliant idea of assembly when I got home $300 in shorted outMB, and ruined cpu cured me of that.:D

OK. Now I get it.
I couldn't get any monitoring results because I didn't have any of the monitoring tools installed that will work with OCCT. I CAN change the max temp, I CAN change the language. All of this under the "monitoring" tab. I was wrong about not being able to change anything.:(...
Thanks for the response.
I will check all you asked and re-post. I will d/l one of those programs and see plus I will check out all your questions. I have been busy and will now focus on this. It seems like a great prog. I just couldn't understand what the tools would do. I missed the part...
Yes, it very well could be. I didn't know about that at the time I purchased and installed it. If I get another one, I will, this time, leave it alone.

When I installed mine, it ran about 5-6C better than stock (at stock speeds). I took it off to reinstall with Arctic Silver 5, and it wouldn't go back on. The pins turned out to be defective. I think if I had done AC5 in the first place, it would have done a little better
It's not bad for...
I installed the latest version, ran it and it crashed in ten seconds after running the monitor stage. I then raised the cpu volts a notch, and it ran for 2 min. and crashed. I turned off the ram option and ran only the cpu and it went the whole 30 min. no problem. I had run memtest the day...
In case anyone's interested,
Newegg no longer has them in stock. They just refunded me on an RMA instead of replacing the bad one I shipped back to them due to out of stock condition. At least they could have offered me a bit of a discount on an exchange for something else, instead of just...
shmitty,
Thanks. I went to the site and d/l'ed, ran it, it crashed after monitoring in ten seconds. I then raised my vcore up a notch, and it ran for two minutes and crashed. I then set it to just test the cpu, and it went the distance. It seems like a good program, but I have to figure out...
