Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm looking for an ibook g3 -- >400 MHz processor and 256 MB ram, or a thinkpad of a little higher caliber. Battery must be good, no infamous broken ibook laptops, please.
I have around $310.
Go.
;)
Here I have an Athlon 64 system that a relative gave to me. I need money for a college laptop, so it's basically useless to me. It's not a GREAT system, but more than adequate for most needs. It's VERY quiet, considering the water cooling and fanbus. The front panel is really neat, with two...
Comcast is hit or miss. They're generally a mediocre service (in Philly) with absolutely horrible customer service. As soon as you get it, switch your DNS to 4.4.4.0 or another public, reliable service.
...I've boycotted Comcast ever since they slaughtered TechTV into a bloody pulp, threw...
The BIOS clearly says 100C, but I'm really hoping it somehow got switched to F :-p.
Don't think that's the case, though. The other temps are all accurate (low 20s) for my setup.
Okay, so I just dropped in a Athlon 64 3000+, skt 754 Venice. I have a athlon XP innovatek watercoolibf kit with a socket 754 adaptor. Arctic silver 5 applied properly. When I boot the machine and go into BIOS, the thing is 100 degrees C!!! The board is a DFI LanParty 250gb.
I can touch the...
If you're doing it spread style instead of Arctic Silver's reccomended "pea" style, you spread the paste throughout. That big metal cap on the processor is actually designed to spread the heat from the core.
Build it then. Order rack rails and build the frame out of metal square tubing. Get someone to weld it if you cannot or don't want to. Then simply attatch plywood to the sides and add castors. Job done.
There are many rack plans on the internet.
Look for racks used by touring musicians, you can find good mobile ones for a few hundred. Bass guitarists especially use them, with pre/power amps, effects, compressors.. oh my! :p
The DVI-VGA adaptor is just for PCs with only a DVI out or dual-monitor setups that have a DVI and VGA out. You won't see any improvement by using the adaptor in a DVI connector instead of straight VGA.
