Are you serious? I work on symantec and there is absolutely no need to "support" virus writers. There are plenty of them out there and who knows how many script kiddies that just repackage old threats.

I will stick with my NIS 2010. Installed in 45 seconds, so easy to use, takes almost no resources. Very different experience then I had with the 2008 and earlier builds. Seriously like night and day comparison.
