    i have only been able to use MX red, and browns out of the two, i like reds more than the browns. i could be biased not using the browns for very long though.

    i have a CX750m, i dont have the loud fan problems you do. i would look into a corsair RMA. Sounds like the fan may be failing.

    currently running a samsung 840 120gb(non pro) for my boot, and bf4 drive. all my steam games go on my 1TB WD Blue, which is about half full of games.
