need some help with my acer al2223w

I'm in as well, grabbed one going from a 19 inch CRT. I adjusted some but I'm sure it needs further tweaking. I'm having some eye fatigue but not too bad, I took the brightness way way down. Scott

Thoughts on a budget AMD x2 Build

I finally convinced a good friend that it was time to upgrade his old Dell P3 to a newer system. Seems like a great time to build a budget system. He is not a gamer so I'm basically looking to get the best I can for cheap, I doubt he will be moving off XP for quite some time so VISTA isn't in...

    Ninja Mounting on 939 A8n-E

Thanks for the quick reply Scrawnypaleguy, I did notice machine marks like you mentioned. I'm sure lapping will make a difference, however it seems like it should work better even if its a bad surface (it was smooth, I didn't check flat). When it sits in the bios it climbs to 56-57 after...

I got mine today (2 cases for two different people I'm building systems for at 2 different addresses). I ordered on 1/24/07 and received two cases in the mail today. They came in great condition and look very capable, I especially like the nice soft rubber feet. Time to sell those silicon...

    Kingston HyperX PC3200 - 1GB DDR $80, 2x1GB $160, free ship, kingston.com

People on SD reporting that promotion expired message appears now and your cart is empty even if you can stomach the wait. I did this for 2 sets of 2x1GB earlier this morning before the site slow down. It just seemed like it wouldn't last but I didn't think they would be done so early. Good...

    am2 stock cooler anygood?

I've heard that the 3800+ (maybe 4200 not sure) and above come with some form of the 4 heatpipe coolers and can handle most moderate overclocks although possibly at the expense of noise from the delta fan. I'm not positive on the 3800+ number as being those that shipped with the newer HSF but a...

Help IDing new Opteron/X2 stock HSF

Yeah It seemed that way when comparing the pics... I've got 2 Opty 170s that I'm using to extend the life of my comp and the folks (s939 don't want to buy ddr2 atm). I've got a Ninja lined up for mine (moderate OC plus smooth 120 action) and I've been debating on giving the rents a modified AMD...

Help IDing new Opteron/X2 stock HSF

cool hopefully it will be on par with the 4 on one side that is so well thought of. Although if this one is a 70mm that is a bit of a drag for one looking to swap a quieter panaflo 80mm in there. I guess I'll have to just take the fan off and see when I build this week :D Scott

Help IDing new Opteron/X2 stock HSF

well that depends on how you define 4 vs 2. The version of the hsf I have has 4 different heatpipes that never touch one and other. There are 2 on each side that traverse to the other side of the heatsink and end at distinct solder points. You can see them in the pics where the solder points...
