Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hi Guys,
Now, I know nothing about networking, I am purely on the systems side of things.
I've setup my own home lab, I have a NAS drive and my white box connected to my home router. Speeds are crap and make it impossible to work.
Can someone recommend a decent ADSL2 compliant router...
I can't see the exact speed but it took 30 minutes for a 3GB ISO to upload to a datastore which is a local disk...
I just want some advice on how I can tweak performance without spending too much..
Hi,
I have a setup that has a quadport NIC installed - at the moment my NAS and machine are both plugged into my normal ADSL2 router.
I have a Cisco catalyst 2950 switch sitting here but want some advice on setting up the network before I start...I'm trying to upload a couple of ISO's to...
I'm setting up Ubuntu at the moment then will be installing Xen hypervisor...
I've been trying to locate places for instructions on how to setup shared storage in Xen hypervisor but I am unable to find anything...I have a NAS with 4TB worth of storage, do you know any decent forums / wikis with...
I need some assistance, I'm about to start on this great fancy environment, but after 60 days, it will be useless, correct?
Will I be able to renew my 'Evaluation period'? How does this work?
Thanks,
Michael
I'll try the cisco router emulator if I end up needing it, but I doubt I will...
What do you guys think of Xen virtualisation? Do you think it would be possible to setup ESXi within Xen?
I have gone ahead and purchased the below, do I need a cisco router thrown in, or only the switch?
AMD FX-8350 8-Core Socket AM3+ 4.0GHz-4.2GHz 8MB L3 Share (CPU) $234
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 (Motherboard) $219
G.Skill GSkill DDR3 16GB 2x8Gb 1600 MHz PC3 12800...
Or would I be better off with something like this + the NAS drive?

What do you guys think?
I will be running a quite a few VMs for a Windows lab (Domain with Citrix, Exchange, Clusters, testing Hypervisor Technology)
I'll also be running Linux for testing purposes (24x7) web server, VPN, and a Firewall, Xen virtualisation and any other cool functions I can...
The servers infected had not been patched and updated with latest AV. We are using Trend.
It was bad management of the infrastructure. A long rebuilding process has begun.
The problem is that this virus will not clean no matter what and when it does clean, it removes half the required Windows DLL files.
Blah!!! Worst. Virus. EVER.
