    Reliable LGA 1700 Motherboard Wanted

That's similar to the board I'm replacing, a ASUS Prime Z790-A WiFi. It's been flaky not long after I got it. Sent it in to get checked and ASUS says it was the BIOS. Came back and still randomly re-boots. :( They appear very similar, I'm nervous getting another board from that family of boards.

    Reliable LGA 1700 Motherboard Wanted

I have to replace my mother board. I have a i5-13500 CPU, WD SN770 NVMe SSD, 32x2 DDR5 memory, Dual RTX3060 Video card to re-home. I don't over-clock or game hard. Just looking for a stable reliable LGA 1700 ATX mother board. Any good value recommendations?

    PC Chronic Re-Boot

So I've enabled XMP in BIOS and immediately clock speed and 4 or 5 voltage settings were updated, 5600Mhz @ 1.25v. Fingers crossed that takes care of that.

    PC Chronic Re-Boot

Like I said I don't over clock or anything so this is new to me. I do have follow up questions. Checking the Corsair web site the mem kit I have list the SPD Voltage at 1.1v and the Tested Voltage at 1.25v. However when I look at re-sellers the memory is listed as 1.25V which I would...

    PC Chronic Re-Boot

Yes they are definitely in slots A2 and B2. For my original post I just cut and pasted system info text from "PerformanceTest", weird. Estimated wattage for the build was 465W, I'm running a Corsair RM850x PSU. The motherboard supports 4800 to 7200Mhz, so it is surprising mem is clocking down...

    PC Chronic Re-Boot

I do have auto restart set to off. But it keeps rebooting, that is what makes me wonder if it is OS triggered. For a memory issue should there be some indicator, memory dump, parity error? I don't over clock or anything like that, so what would be a bit more voltage?

    PC Chronic Re-Boot

Let me know if there is a better sub-forum to post this type of issue/question. I have a 6 month old build that randomly re-boots all the time. I get no warning, no blue screen, nothing. I have power on set to off on AC loss. I have restart set to off, Win Update set to off. Most common...

    Cable Modem and Router Questions

Yes ironically my AP is an AC66U running in AP mode. The 66U is fine as an AP. What would you use for a router/firewall. I'm thinking something better suited more upto date for managing my network.

    Cable Modem and Router Questions

My thought was to purchase my own cable modem instead of the monthly rental from Xfinity/Comcast. I'm looking for reasonable ROI. I don't need wifi built in as I already have an AP I can use. However eliminating wi-fi from the modem/router doesn't seem to really save much, supply and demand...

Win10 File Copy Error 0x8007003B - Home Network

Fixed! Issue was with the BitDefender Firewall (Total Security 2015 build 19.xxx.xx.xx) on the source/outgoing Win10 PC of all things. Updated to BD 2016 and network transfers are smoking fast again.:ROFLMAO:

Win10 File Copy Error 0x8007003B - Home Network

I consistently get a 0x8007003B error trying to copy pictures from my Win10 machine to any of the two Win7 machines on my home network. Files sizes range 1.5 to ~13MB *.jpg. I checked the target machine during the copy and the CPU was pegged at 100% I don't have this problem copying between...

    Home Network Switch Type

One question, If I got an 8 Port FW and 8 port switch why not put the primary PCs on the FW and the network printer and other low bandwidth devices on the switch? Won't the switch channel all traffic through a single FW port?

    Home Network Switch Type

Port 1, so I guess I'm bypassing the firewall? I remember now, quite a while ago I tried put the modem in bridge mode, had issues. I guess I forgot to go back and fix it :(

    Home Network Switch Type

Yes the FVS318. I have 100Mps service that tests at 90/20 dwn/up from behind my FVS318 firewall. Are these tests just testing to the router. I tried 4 different test with the same result. I have no specific need for VPN, it just cane with the switch. Most devices on the LAN are gigabit...

    Home Network Switch Type

My current router/firewall/switch is 10/100. If I put all LAN devices on a gigabit switch is the 10/100 firewall adequate for internet traffic. The two options I'm looking at cost about the same. 1) old 10/100 8 Port Firewall >> new 16 port gigabit switch 2) new gigabit 8 Port firewall...
