    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Sounds like the winner in my book then! Thank you very much for the details :)

Can you quantify the edge? Like what is it that makes it better exactly?

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I have always been running DP, so no issues there. My RTX 2070 has DP 1.4 :) I see Acer, Asus and Gigabyte all have a 4K/144Hz 43" VA with some form of freesync type deal. I am expecting these to be practically identical, but the Aorus seems to promise a bit more. As if that really means very...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I'm looking at the Aorus 43" right now, having eliminated TV alternatives and the 48" version. I was wondering if anyone could help me consider the options? Here are some points I think are important: -I am not happy with OLED, my software would burn in hard real fast. -I don't have HDMI 2.1...

How good can TN panels get?

How big of a difference can one expect between «similar» TN panels many years apart? I have a Philips 272G5DYEB/00 which is a 1ms (they wish) 144Hz Gsync monitor, obviously TN. I have a chance to upgrade to an Acer Predator XB271HA for a negligible price. It is also a 1ms 144Hz Gsync TN. It has...

    36" to 44" 4K Roundup

The first 4K monitors had two vertically oriented panels with half 4K resolutions, requiring a "multi-monitor" setup to use. Is there any reason why some company couldn't make a 120hz+ 4K monitor by doing the same, but with high refresh rate panels?

    36" to 44" 4K Roundup

OK, real talk guys... Is the large format 4K monitor market juat not ready yet? It seems to me that the best we can do is "hey that looks nice", if we accept a ton of compromise to get it. All the large panels are slow in either response, input lag, or both. They might seem perfect at first...

    Wasabi Mango UHD400 40" 4k Display

Exactly. And you don't see it flicker. I did a slow motion video of my LED bulbs to check, and they don't get completely dark before they flash again between pulses, so there's a certain "slop" to it. So while the pulse frequency might not be great, the pulse DEPTH isn't bad at all.

You know, that actually reminds me that many of the lights in my room are flickering like that. You can't see it at all, unless you shake something and look at the movement.

    36" to 44" 4K Roundup

Not TOO bad. It's "tv gaming mode" levels. do we know the input lag of the WM uhd400? It's PWM, but very high frequency.

    Wasabi Mango UHD400 40" 4k Display

Nice! Has anyone here seen one of these and gone "ugh, flicker!" At all? Has anyone heard of someone who couldn't stand the PWM on one (and not just someone who went "oh ew, PWM!" Like I have been soing lately?)

    36" to 44" 4K Roundup

I did say it would need less input lag. It would have to be part if the spec for sure. Edit: do we have an input lag reading for the Iiyama x4071uhsu-b1 though? The other one (more of a public display model) has the 50-ish ms lag, but do we know if this one does also?

    36" to 44" 4K Roundup

I just contacted Iiyama about making their 40" 4k monitor flicker free and adding freesync, suggesting a group buy to kickstart it. Thoughts? Edit: I believe the Iiyama X4071UHSU-B1 uses PWM. 2nd edit: looking at the video, it looks like it's PWM based.

    Wasabi Mango UHD400 40" 4k Display

I've been drooling over this monitor for a while, but the main thing holding me back... Is the PWM backlight. But I find it hard to tell how prominent and visible strobing like this really is. I have very little experience with PWM backlit screens, but I very clearly prefer smooth stability over...

    36" to 44" 4K Roundup

I'd like to request the Wasabi Mango UHD40 and 43 be added, as well as the Philips 43" monitor. I'm curious as to how they compare to the others on the list! I'm about to go nuts because of all the potential options available to me. No matter what I do, there's a compromise I have to give up...
