Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

So, I'm a bit out of the loop with regard to the PC hardware scene right now. My 14 y/o daughter's birthday is coming up, and I want to build her a new budget gaming rig.
I need advice on the following:

Mobo
GPU
Memory
I have the PSU and SSD covered. Honestly, her favorite...
My daughter and I still go to and check out books at the library every couple weeks. They stay current on most non-fiction releases I'm interested in but don't want to own, so still a very valuable, useful resource imo. The majority of staff are elderly volunteers, don't think it's a HUGE strain...
NSA had this shit figured out a long time ago. This "debate" was nothing more than a side-show. Yeah, I know, inb4 conspiracy theory, tin-foil hat etc.
After everything Snowden released, if you believe ANYTHING the FBI or intelligence agencies put out through the media for public consumption...

Started with 2x 8800 GTX's, then, for the helluva it, "upgraded" to the Ultra's using evga's step up program. This was back in late 07 iirc. Looking back, I can't believe I used to spend so much on hardware. That entire rig cost me ~$4k. Rocked the Velociraptors in RAID 0, the works. When I was...
Haven't paid for AV in over 10 years, used to run all the Norton products. After I realized that was essentially a waste of money and resources, switched between MSE, AVG and a few others until my ISP started offering KIS for free. Been using that for a couple years, no complaints.
Looks like they closed up shop on eBay. Wanted to get a few more 50ft cat5e cables.
Ordered some lightning cables, networking stuff and AC Unity ps4 (only $10, why not), Fortunately received everything without any issues.
If power consumption is is important to you, then I suppose the 4690s. Other than that they're virtually identical, aside from the obvious clock speed differences, which you may not notice much.
