Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I ran a consistency check across my 24 drive array of HD204UI's, running off a Areca ARC-1880i + Chenbro UEK13601 and had no errors. I'm still holding out for a "real" firmware update that will increment the version number. Seems to me that you will only experience problems if you are running a...
The Dell 6224 doesn't actually come with the 10G ports, it has a couple of expansion bays that you can buy modules for, only one of which can be the 10GBASE-T module. Haven't seen any 10GBASE-T ones on ebay yet, but they are $1350 from dell. Doesn't make much sense if you can only have 2 ports...
10GBASE-T runs great with just a cat-6 cable between two machines. I picked up a pair of Dell XR997's (Intel 10G AT Adapters) for $250 off ebay, put one in my server, one in my main workstation, and plugged a cat-6 cable between them. They use their Gig-e to talk to the rest of the network, and...
The Chenbro expander is defunct? I got mine from Provantage about 3 months ago, and it was actually less than I paid for my HP. There was about a 3 week wait, but they are still available.
Probably the slot not providing "power good". I tried an HP SAS Expander on a nvidia 780i motherboard, and it wouldn't come up in either of the pcie 2.0 x16 slots, but it would in the pcie 1.0 x16 slots that were run by a secondary NF200 pcie bridge.
I've had 24 Samsung HD204UIs running on my ARC-1880i / Chenbro expander for a couple months now with no issues.
Samsung has a patch out now too, though I haven't applied it to my drives.
