    The Dell 6224 doesn't actually come with the 10G ports, it has a couple of expansion bays that you can buy modules for, only one of which can be the 10GBASE-T module.     Probably the slot not providing "power good". I tried an HP SAS Expander on a nvidia 780i motherboard, and it wouldn't come up in either of the pcie 2.0 x16 slots, but it would in the pcie 1.0 x16 slots that were run by a secondary NF200 pcie bridge.
