Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
that's interesting... what is the purpose of the fourth pin? again, i haven't even seen fans with these 4-pin connectors.
will the motherboard control the speed of case fans connected to the 3-pin connectors as well?
I'm very confused about fan controls and whatnot.
My mobo (abit IP35-pro) has the four pin fan connector for the cpu and a ton of 3 pin case fan connectors. I've read somewhere that the four pin allows the mobo to control the cpu fan speed. All the fans i've found (s-flex, yate loon, etc)...
Just an update:
I'm buying this PC as I go; saving the most time affected parts for last. I current have:
Abit IP-35 pro
Antec P182
Corsair 520W
I'm just waiting for a deal on memory (although apparently prices are going back up so I should just settle on that soon.) The CPU will come...
After you consider the $24+ for shipping from zipzoomfly, the P182 case is cheaper at newegg at the moment. (139.99 - 50 mrb, free shipping) so 89.99 if you can wait

So, is the case at Zipzoomfly actually back or is it gunmetal? The pictures on Antec's website and the photo on zzf's website both look black, but the (same?) case at newegg looks very grey.
enginurd,
How is the Ultra 90 + fan vs the Tuniq as far as sound goes? Sound is an issue for me, i've gotten used to my Dell's BTX airflow and nearly silent operation.
I understand that OC'ing is going to require a bit more cooling, but I'd like it quieter than louder. Liquid cooling is only...
I've finally graduated from college and found a job, and I've decided it's about time that I bought myself a new computer. The last time I build a computer from scratch was 2002. Since then I've bought a Dell which I modified, but just isn't up to today's gaming.
I've been browsing the forums...
