    Is upgrading to this from a Vertex 4 worth it? Windows is pretty fast now and I would be disappointed if this didn't really make a real world difference after spending a bit of money on it.

    Semi glossy? It is not at all, it has the look of a matte screen but with a very light AG that is not noticeable what so ever. Since the NEC is on backorder, I would order this and see how it plays..if you don't like it you can always return the Asus and maybe the NEC will be back in stock.
