no i have not. though the problem has become more common since using the gtx260 (same thing happened with a 9800) as for that thread, i'm afraid it's nothing new. everything points to these errors being all over the place. thanks for your help though :)

what good would entering safe mode do if i don't know what the problem is? yes, nothing particular really comes up that i haven't looked into. how would i ascertain this?
