Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm using it with a Kingston SSDNow V+200 (SF-2281) 60GB:
# hdparm -tT /dev/sdb1
/dev/sdb1:
Timing cached reads: 22586 MB in 2.00 seconds = 11302.81 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 500 MB in 3.00 seconds = 166.43 MB/sec

There are both internal and external versions, I have the card with two internal ports.
Some cards have two internal and two external but only two ports will work at the same time I think. Check ASmedia 1061 on eBay and I'm sure you'll find cards with internal ports.

Hi _Gea,
What kind of speeds are you seeing on your NFS? I'm currently using a separate NAS but speeds are not as good as I was hoping for so I'm debating whether I should move to a virtualized NAS/SAN. Are you using NFS in sync or async mode?
Thanks
If you're looking for cheap then I can recommend a ASMedia 1061-based card.
I've got one and it works fine with ESXi 5.1, even in pass-through mode if your setup supports that.
Can be bought for $13: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271014212322?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I won't need the warranty as it's only for my personal use I want it to be quiet and have low power comsumption.
The server will run diskless or with one SSD, the VMDKs will be on a NAS. What do you mean with quad card?
My favorite retailer has the FUJITSU PRIMERGY TX100 S3P E3-1220V2 with 2x4GB ECC RAM and 2X500GB HDDs for ~$600USD.
For the same price however I can build a white box with the following specs:
Intel Xeon E3-1230v2 (with Hyper-Threading!)
32GB RAM (non-ECC)
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H
CHIEFTEC...
