ok this is a stupid problem.. i was playing around with my new setup 4770k and asus z87-a had everything gtg at 4.3ghz decided to play around with an app called throttlestop. ive since deleted this program. except now in windows im limited to 3500mhz under load. ive reset the bios ive tried...

i dont know the only thing i can think of is something has happened to my video card sometime between this afternoon at 1pm when i played and about an hour ago. i am running a 7800gt that was at 80-85+ degrees while playing earlier. good thing an xfx 4850 is on the way.
i played cod4 all the way through yesterday no problems at all. today i installed a TRUE and the game runs like ass.. when i minimize from in game core one is at 100% while the rest are at 5-6% shouldnt atleastcore 2 be up there too>?
im gonna see what happens with the TRUE. i backed it off for now as i need this system to last awhile and dont want to take any chances.

ok cant get past 4.0 upped vcore to 1.45 (1.41 idle 1.38 load) and dram to 2.2 runs prime 95 for ~20-30 seconds anything else i can do? loosen mem timing?
Got my new setup to 4ghz ran prime95 for 15-20 mins and stable. Will run overnight tonight but everything seems stable so far. For cooling im using my old thermalright xp120 i had on my old AMD-939 setup but have a TRUE on order. BTW this setup cost me less then $400 heres some pics.

I ran prime 95 for 5-10 minutes and noticed
core 0 - 70 C
core 1 -64 C
core 2 - 65 C
core 3 - 63 C
Those are my current temp with stock intel cooler at 3.2ghz q9450 so i backed it sown to stock till my TRUE gets here.
