1066 sticks are just 800's with better chips that "Tend" to OC higher then the 800 sticks.

that seemed to work. prime95 good for the last 20 mins. I got 4.1ghz with the vcore set at 1.4125 and saw 1.39-140 idle and 1.38-1.39 load

ok cant get past 4.0 upped vcore to 1.45 (1.41 idle 1.38 load) and dram to 2.2 runs prime 95 for ~20-30 seconds anything else i can do? loosen mem timing?

Got my new setup to 4ghz ran prime95 for 15-20 mins and stable. Will run overnight tonight but everything seems stable so far. For cooling im using my old thermalright xp120 i had on my old AMD-939 setup but have a TRUE on order. BTW this setup cost me less then $400 heres some pics. Gigabyte...

core 0 - 50 C core 1 -36 C core 2 -43 C core 3 -42 C On idle. I ran prime 95 for 5-10 minutes and noticed core 0 - 70 C core 1 -64 C core 2 - 65 C core 3 - 63 C Those are my current temp with stock intel cooler at 3.2ghz q9450 so i backed it sown to stock till my TRUE gets here.

just got my new system up and running, got it set at 400x8 for 3.2ghz but it comes up as 400x6 at 2.4ghz in cpuz in both vista 64 and win7. as well in gigbytes easytune and coretemp. the boot screen comes up as 3.2 and ive seen cpuz just back and forth between 400x6 and 8 2.4ghz/3.2ghz whats up...

all my research points to 800mhz ram in all 3 models x1/a1/a2 and single 200mb 7200rpm hd in the x1(newegg model only, BestBuy x1 has single 250gb 5400rpm), dual 250mb 5400rpm drives in the a1, and dual 7200rpm 200mb drives in the a2. and one other thing the A2 comes with a Blu-ray Disc player...

Good reply thanks! and i just noticed the asus comes with a backpack and a gaming mouse so thats a $50+ value and i didnt figure windows vista into the sager price so that adds another $140 to the price of the sager.

i have that setup with 1 120mm front intake, top exhaust and back intake and its working great so far. MB temp this morning was 29c.

Damn Ok, now that thats out of the way i also noticed a problem with the sound pausing for half a second in games like doom3 and quake4 (w/ EAX, its fine with EAX off) and CSS even with no eax like you said. im in gamemode, I tried turning cmss off and it seams to do it less but still does it...

just installed my x-fi and now i dont have any option for EAX in the options menu... im pretty sure it was there before...

the onboard sound of the asus is pretty good i think. i have an analog 5.1 setup through a yamaha reciever w/ bookshelf speakers but im wondering if id see a big difference in sound quality switching to the xfi>?

so far im happy with the onboard sound of the a8n32. but i like the nvidia nforce sound reference drivers instead of the realtek ones by asus
