    the precisions can be a great deal depending on how you get them. i was looking at a macbook pro 15" and m4800 , ultimately i got the precision. i managed to get it on ebay sealed with 3 yr warranty for 1000$ , upgraded the cpu and added in 480gb msata with 2tb 2.5"(data) and 1tb 2.5"...

    8gb sticks cost about 40-50$ a peice (to canada). i have a guy here that can sell me 4gb ddr3 ecc for 10$ a stick. the new board has 12 ram slots , i plan on filling them all with 4gb sticks yeilding 48gb.

    pretty much both of those to a T , memory and storage. i used esata to try to compensate the loss of storage bays , its just to slow. 16gb memory seems like alot , but i ran out of it quickly.
