Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Other than the massive FPS improvements, the other thing I noticed is how much cooler this card runs. Never over 51 degrees so far. The 390 was a space heater, and I customized the fan profile to keep it in the 60s. Didn't realize how loud it was until I got the new card and thought something...
So what should I do with my now old STRIX R390? The card is fine. I just wanted an upgrade. Is it worth trying to sell it, or is it considered too old to bother selling? I have no use for it so if it is tech that is too old, I will just bring it to the recycling center.
Got home from work with it waiting at the door for me. Plugged that bad boy in and got the OC to over 2G and the RAM up to 9G. I knew there'd be a big difference, but I am floored!!! Sweet card!!!
Thanks flogger23m. You steered me in a better direction. I ordered a Strix 1070ti and it should be here today. I ended up spending $150 less than I was willing to. Plus I saw the review here on [H] and it seems like I made a good decision.
I have a R9 390 that I bought two years ago. I have been thinking about buying a new card. I game at 2560 x 1080 (a bit weird resolution I know, but that is the monitor I have). My frame rates have been fine for me until I bought AC:O and FarCry 5. AC:O is in the 20-30 fps range and is not...
I went from 2 TV boxes with Comcast at $188 per month to $50 per month for a slower internet connection and no cable. I got tired of the added fees and taxes. The worst one is the "gross receipts" tax that is basically a tax on a tax. I ordered an HDTV antenna from Newegg that should be here...
My only one was the 7700k I posted about recently, and I didn't really even do anything manually. I just ran AISuite, let it do what it did, and didn't bother to think about it. I don't know if I blame myself for that or not. The only ruining of expensive hardware I completely blame myself...
Cooler Master Hyper 212. I have an old water cooling setup, dual 120 mm radiator. I just need a new CPU waterblock. Thinking about going down that path.
It turned out to be the CPU. I had to keep progressively lowering the multiplier until it got down to 24. It worked for half a day at 24x and then would not POST after that. The Qcode was D0, CPU initialization error. Got the new CPU last night and kept everything stock. Ran prime 95 for 2...
Thank you guys for your input. I did everything Nenu mentioned in his last post. Temps were around 76C when it last crashed. Prior to posting, I took out both RAM sticks, put only 1 in, then took that one out and used the other one. Still crashed. No XMP set either time. Took out my video...
With the multiplier dropped to 30 and vcore at 1.3 it is stable ATM, but literally within the last hour it has gotten this bad. Guess I need a new CPU.
It is getting worse. I get blue screens at stock now also. Dropped the multiplier to 30 and it is working for the moment. I guess I am asking the experts if it could be anything other than CPU. My guess is no since it is pretty clear it is getting worse. The voltages are all steady so I...
