Well, this is cheaper than most PSUs over 600W, so it's not really spending the money for a 1000W PSU, it's more like if you have a budget of $100 you may decide to get a mediocre 1000W one instead of a really nice 600W one.
That makes more sense. I'd probably place more trust in a quality...
Man... wish this deal had been around when I got my 720! That's a crazy price. This is partially motivated by the fact that my 720 doesn't seem to want to overclock much.
I bought it at launch for $60 and in retrospect it wasn't worth it. But for $30 it probably is, at least if you like fighter jets.
And yeah, a lot of people hate the third person view but there are two things:
1. You don't have to use it (the tutorial is the ONLY mission where you're ever...
I have it for 360. It's pretty fun. There are tons of planes to choose from and unlock (I think around 80!). And it's very arcadey - you get hundreds of missiles and you can take several missile hits before going down. Also the scenery is pretty good (though the texture quality looks kinda bad...
Wow, that worked! I did the following after I got home:
- Increased the HT voltage from 1.2v to 1.3v
- Increased the NB voltage from 1.2v to 1.3v
- Disabled the onboard video (not using it right now)
- Set the CPU for 1.475v (CPU-Z reports 1.44v) and 3.3 GHz
I did HyperPi to 1M places...
Doing that now. Before I left for work I started my computer running Prime95. Setting is 3.2 GHz and 1.4v (turns out 3.3 @ 1.5v still isn't totally stable; HyperPi crashed after a few minutes rather than a few seconds). Earlier I was running it at 3.2 at 1.35v, but I bumped it up to 1.4v to be...
I actually tried turning on ACC when I first set up this CPU because doing so is supposed to potentially unlock the fourth core. Unfortunately, with mine it caused it to not post, so I have to leave it off.
Anyway, I accounted for vdroop and checking CPU-Z it's now doing 1.504v. And at 3.4...
Just got a Phenom II X3 720BE. I heard it can overclock to 3.5 pretty easily so I started playing around with the multiplier (my motherboard, btw, is a Biostar TA790GX 128M).
I've been using HyperPi to test and assuming that's a reliable indicator of stability, this thing is a really poor...
Personally I'd rather have a Phenom II X3 710 for not that much more. The 9600 is quad core but other than that it sucks. Phenom II has addressed most of the issues with the original Phenoms.
Found this just recently for those looking for a graphics update:

Cheapest 1 GB 4870 around, far as I can tell. Shipping adds like $7-$8 though.
EDIT: Dead. They jacked the price WAY up and now it's almost $70 more. Go...
I don't know about that but there is this MSI one from ZipZoomFly for $159 after rebate:

However, it may not really be right for you because no one quite knows if it's even using the reference cooler or a custom one...
