    HP LP2475w (Possible new IPS)

^^^^^ I should have put the message in quotes, or formatted it differently (if I knew how): "Item Under Review While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong...

    HP LP2475w (Possible new IPS)

The HP LP2475w is still under view at Amazon?? Below is the message from Amazon and has been there for over a week. Anybody know why? Perhaps customers noticed old firmware?? If yes, is it possible for customers to update the firmware? I read Dell and Samsung have played the panel lottery...

    Mac and NEC connection issues

Was all set to get the 2490WUXi-BK-SV but read in another forum that the Mac with the ATi Radeon HD 4870 is having compatibility issues with NEC monitors. Users are saying if they boot up Mac first then turn on the NEC things are fine, but when the Mac goes to sleep and re-awakes the NEC...

    NEC monitors, 24" and 26" WUXi, WUXi2, & W2 versions

Oh come on, albovin, I am not a spammer. Confused yes, and not that lazy either. I've been reading the threads and various reviews from different sources but it's not exactly easy light reading for me. I am artist than a techie. For clarity I did start some threads that overlapped, is that...

My emotional price point of $1000 has been broken

    I can't get the 3008WFP it's wide gamut. :(

My emotional price point of $1000 has been broken

When I started this search for a monitor I said to myself I won't go over a $1000, because it's "crazy" to spend that much on a monitor. It was it an arbitrary number in some ways, but also because you can buy a 13" MacBook for $1000. Anyway, I am now looking at either the NEC 2490WUXi-BK-SV...

    NEC monitors, 24" and 26" WUXi, WUXi2, & W2 versions

And the SV is only $200 more. I am now thinking 2490WUXi-BK-SV or the Dell 3008WFP, but the Dell is wide gamut. :( I am attracted to the 30" though.

Thanks for the link. Reading away as I type. 5 more pages to go. :)

Monitor prices are sort of like gas prices, up and down.

A lesson in economics? :) Seriously, just thought it was interesting since most electronics only go down in price. It's unusual for it to go up, also noticed sometimes a previous version of a monitor is sometimes considered better, versus a computer where the newest version is almost always...

Monitor prices are sort of like gas prices, up and down.

Usually prices of tech products just go down in price, some faster than others. But with monitors I noticed it can go back up! The HP LP2475w has gone up about $40. Last week or so, I saw it for $530, not it's $560/$570??

    NEC monitors, 24" and 26" WUXi, WUXi2, & W2 versions

I am seriously thinking about the NECs. :) Since monitors last a long time I am looking for the best all-around monitor for movies, games, web design, typical office work. Went on the NEC site and noticed they don't charge more than the reseller sites. I am thinking it's better to buy...

Is the NEC 2690WUXi2 better than 2690WUXi??

Not bad for games, sort of a best all-rounder. It's best for color work though.

Is the NEC 2690WUXi2 better than 2690WUXi??

I am assuming the 2690WUXi2 is the latest model and typically it's better than the older version but not always. Then there's the 2690W2 version (without the "UXi"), what does that mean? If I go with the NEC I might as well go for the 26" since it's only a hundred or so dollars more, but...

Problem: No store carries IPS or *VA monitors to check out.

What's interesting is that the manufacturer site is often less expensive than a reseller! I am assuming it's probably safer and better to buy directly from Dell, HP, or NEC than a reseller. Meaning if I buy the 2408wfp I would get the latest revision (rev A02) from Dell versus no guarantees on...

Problem: No store carries IPS or *VA monitors to check out.

Hmmm, yes we have a BJ Wholesale, I'll check them out tomorrow. I've seen the Apple 24" LED, not bad but don't need the speakers that come with it and glossy is ok, does have iSight webcam built-in which is nice. I guess I am not excited about it. Been reading posts that more than a few...
