    How do colour profiles work?

OK, I'll go on the scrounge and see if I can do it that way, thanks for the feedback.

    How do colour profiles work?

OK so maybe avoid windows and try to do it all with the monitor itself then?

    How do colour profiles work?

Christ, I'd forgotten all about GPU colour changes. I'm getting so confused  I've never worried about calibrating monitors before now, (I'm a freelance 3d visualiser) but I've decided to upgrade to a decent display and get my shit together and do this properly. Problem is, the more...

    How do colour profiles work?

Jeezy Creazy....... OK, first off, thanks very much for all the info, much appreciated. Could you clarify a couple of points for me? I've got a Radeon HD 5850 card on a Benq BL3200PT and an HP ZR2440W, would I be right in thinking that's scenario 2 for me then? Are you basically saying...

    How do colour profiles work?

If I create a colour profile for a monitor does that override the monitors colour adjustments or does it side alongside? If it's the latter am I better to put the monitor to a factory default then calibrate to do as much adjustment as possible in the profile or do I do the heavy lifting with the...

    Benq BL3200PT (32" 1440p)

Just got one set up after Christmas and I can't say I'm too impressed, very uneven brightness on mid to dark greys, the screenshot is both my monitors with the same dark grey colour swatch. I thought it might be my reflection but I took the picture standing off to the side and it was still bad...

New 32 inch display on older graphics card / displayport question.

    Brilliant, thanks very much!

New 32 inch display on older graphics card / displayport question.

I'm planning a monitor upgrade to 30-32 inch soon and I just want to check if the GPU/port connections can handle it. I'm currently running an HP ZR2440 and an Acer V193 on a Radeon HD 5850 card using standard DVI ports. I'm obviously dropping the Acer for a 30-32 inch display which will run...

Thanks, I hadn't seen that model before, seems to be a good price and and is getting decent reviews, I'll look into it a bit more.

    decent 30 - 32 inch monitor up to £450

I was looking at the Lenovo ThinkVision LT3053p which apparently uses the same panel as the Dell U3014 but I can get it a lot cheaper, anyone have any experience of this? I know TFTcentral claim the Dell has a bit of an overshoot issue and no user control on the overdrive function. Would be...

    decent 30 - 32 inch monitor up to £450

I don't game, I do 3D work so i need decent graphics but not necessarily professional standard as my work rarely goes to professional print. I was looking at a Samsung LS32D850T for £418, I think its an MVA panel so a bit middle market but I'm having problems turning up options. Any ideas...

HWMonitor- is MB temp the same as GPU temp?

Cheers, I just tried GPU-Z but it's not giving any temps at all...... I'm looking at aida64 now but it's a bit more complex, I can't find temp info under GPU even on my desktop.

HWMonitor- is MB temp the same as GPU temp?

I was replacing the thermal paste on my laptop (Dell inspiron 1525) CPU to calm the fans down a little as I'm trying (along with an SSD) to extend battery life. I noticed that although the GPU had a thermal pad it semed a very tight fit with the heatsink, I could feel they were making physical...

    Dell U2412M

sent my second one back for the same reason as the first, uneven whites, (a grey yellow haze on the right side of the screen when showing whites). I've spent a bit more and grabbed a HP ZR2440W (£325 from HP directly) it's about £100 more but far better performance right out of the box.
