I've killed several HDDs (maybe 4?), one vid card (evga 7600gt pcie) and that's it, so far.
Typing this on a PII 400, Intel SE440BX Mobo, Ati Rage Pro Turbo 2x. Runs pretty good for an 11 year old.
Oh, I had a psu fan fail once, luckily I was sitting there and smelled the melting, shut her...
No mass produced ones that I know of. They don't wanna deal with breakage in shipping and crybaby lawsuits like voigts mentioned. {have you heard those McDonald's Coke glasses commercials? The disclaimer is HIGHLARIOUS! "Excercize caution. Glass is breakable!" or something like that Har...
Text on my 22" Dell TN sucked outta the box, but after a little work with the Windows Cleartype Tuner, all I'm disappointed with is color fidelity and viewing angles. I think I can live with them. Ye olde 19" CRT was getting a little fuzzy and dim, so I'm stoked for $262 shipped (got it on...
Oh, wow, no more edit. I just wanted to add that CFL quality seems to vary widely. A couple of my 4-year old bulbs are slow to light up, while the other from that 3-pack and my 8.5 year old bulb light right up.
I think the shortest lived one I had went about 2.5 years. I still have the very first CFL I bought, been running for just about 8.5 years. Should be croaking pretty soon.
I'm stoked about the home depot program, too.
Hehehe, I was thinking the same thing. Never seen such gnarly orange peel. I was biting my tongue, though. Tongue biting over.
Hardcore sags on the sidepanel right around the corner from the top screw of the exhaust fan too!
I've seen (and done) worse, though.
I'll concur that you need to reapply thermal paste (cleaning off the old first with some isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip, of course.).
My 3500 runs at 32-35 idle stock clock and stock Heatsink/Fan. I don't leave arctic silver on for much more than a year before reapplying.
Hard to tell from the pics on Gateway's site, but looks like you could just zip-tie a couple 120s for intake on that side panel. I'd just do that 'til you can afford a real case.
I scored a couple of Coolermaster 330s with free shipping. They're $62 shipped at the moment, however. You'll...
Is that thing silver or black, hard to tell with reflections?
You could just get some countersunk screws to fill the holes.
Like these stainless steel 6-32's and some nylock nuts. 8-32's would likely fit too, I'm not heading up to the shop to find out right now. I'd guess 1/4 inch would...
Hmmm, that's an odd experience, Vict0r. I've yet to try my card on any CPU-intensive games, though. I kinda doubt I own any.
I went from a 7600gt to an 8800gts 640 recently and, in America's Army,
1. Went from playing at 1280x1024 to 16x10
2. pushed some settings up
3. experienced...
