Well.... did some research and turned out by adjusting "Lite load" option in BIOS (was set to "auto" which put it at 15, manually set it to 9) dropped temps by almost 15°C... Never really looked into the BIOS except enabling XMP, so guess there are some other things I should adjust too but not...
I have this setup, idle the cpu hovers around 45°C, but while gaming temps tend to rise to about 83°C or more. Cinebench jumps to 100°C right away. This is with the fans at 40%. Airflow is pretty decent in my Fractal North with 2 140mm intake and 1 120mm rear, RAD on top. Advice?
Thanks. So no way to keep using FanControl without my GPU going all wrong in fanspeeds? Been gaming for two days now without FanControl and it feels like I have a new pc. No more hairdryer noise when under load, but just a slight woosh of the fans and pretty decent temps. Just wish I would be...
Not sure what happened, but I stopped using FanControl (even though my GPU was not being set in the software) and since then, the card behaves like it should. Temps around 67°C-70°C under load, with fans going to about 35%. Really unsure what could have caused the high fan noise, since I checked...
I'm having serious issues with my Asus RTX4080 Super TUF OC. While airflow in my pc is decent enough (Fractal North with 2x140mm intake, 1x120mm outtake and 2x120mm AIO at top exhaust) the fan speeds are just excessive in relation to temps. Also, apparently there seems to be NO difference...
Been playing this for over 30hrs now, never got into it on PS4 but now on pc I love it. One thing bothers me though, I know you can for example buy several upgrades and make them complement each other (for example : 2x scanner upgrade with 2x 7000% more money) but I've read that this only works...
Ah ok, damn, thought I got it ;) Still, without any overclock running kombustor (furmark) for a few mins I seem to max at +-80°C with 80% fan speed.

(it's at 81% fan speed now)
Ok now I might be on to something. Check your screenshot of GPU-Z and compare to mine :
Your fan at 69% show a RPM of 988rpm. Mine at 72% show an rpm of ... 1655rpm !! Running Heaven benchmark now, fan now at 69% with RPM showing 1.616rpm. Could it be that my fans are 'broken' in the sense...
That is what I have found strange too, some people report that on auto their fan stays below 70% even with temps +70°C. Mine goes over 70% quite a bit faster. Very difficult to judge the fans without having a 2nd card to compare. Some people say mine sounds broken (from the video) others say...
that really depens on airflow and ambient temp too I guess. in crysis3 with casefans at about 2/3 speed (using my Fractal fan controller) temp rise to about 72°C with the msi blowing around 60%. When playing W3, the temp easily goes up to 75°C and beyond with casefans at 2/3rd's and MSI blowing...
Performance is way too goo to sell it though :) But thermals are not ok for me, I have been used to a very quiet and very cool pc (gtx980 strix, max temp 72°C, no audible noise, pc was 100% silent for me). But with the GTX980Ti I had to install 2 extra 140mm fans to keep temps at around 74°C and...
In my case no, fans at +65 percent can be pretty well heard. Easily the loudest component in my rig which is prettty silent. At over 70 the fans sound like a cdrom spinnijg at max speed. No idea if it is the same with all msi's.
