So far, I got a PNY CS1311 240GB and it's great, but there's got to be better alternatives and I plan to upgrade later.
So what MLC/TLC SSD can I truly go for that won't degrade quickly due to well, constant encoding?
The Plan B is saving up funds and getting a 1080p 144hz display from either Acer or Asus, after the 1070.
I plan to play DOOM at Ultra/Ultra-Nightmare settings and Killer Instinct at High/Ultra/the ideal setting that will automatically beat it's standard Xbox One performance. At my current...
Noted.
I currently own a Acer S200HQL GBD display. I'm hoping that the 1070 was appropriate for it despite all the "overkill for 1080p/60hz" opinions and I'd do anything to reduce potential screentearing via Fast Sync and/or FPS-locking.
As much as 1440p displays are awesome, I do not have the budget to upgrade to that component for now.
So, has anyone in [H] tested this option with any of the GTX 1070/1080 GPUs??
So generally, reference GPUs are used for these types of builds and I am currently considering to get one such GPU card. Though, could an exception be made when using a custom-cooled GPU card for SFF cases like the Corsair Obsidian 250D with operational case fans??
My build has one 140mm case...
My budget for a 240gb m.2 ssd is just a $100 and they are just used for the OS's system+reserved data. Obviously, Samsung's 850 Pro is THE fan favorite while Intel's/Sandisk's 2nd place or last place, but the former's 850 Pro m.2's are currently on backorder on B&H or now above $100 on Amazon...
Interesting.
According to anandtech, Samsung will roll out their 1TB m.2 950 Pro sometime this year to rival Sandisk's 1TB m.2 x400. I won't be able to afford that Samsung m.2 for a while, unless I gradually save up or go for sandisk's.
Rationally, I should agree with you on waiting for...
I'd rather not say where I am, though I do live in the USA and I've ordered on Newegg, Amazon, B&H and Jet. On foot, I go for Best Buy.
The rig has been built last month for $815 with Windows 10 as the OS 64bit. Currently, its only serious job is reencoding matroska format videos into mp4...
I'm planning to get this HDD later next month for simple archiving of videos. So far, Newegg, Amazon and B&H like it but the noise is bad.
I do have history with Toshiba. My PS3 has a 1TB laptop hard drive installed and it's still good.
Any thoughts about this one, or should I go for WD or...
