AMD talked about DP1.3 etc and a slide mentioned a Samsung CF791 1440x3440 34".
I hope this is the new 100hz VA panel ... (see page 26 of the PDF)

Does anyone know anything about this new monitor and how it compares to the Philips 40"?
This could be great with a software upgrade for freesync or even better (but unlikely) Gsync.
I loved the Philips for static use but...
Thanks for your fast reply ;-)
No one ever writes/says anything about ULMB in desktop use so I was wondering why this was never mentioned...
I guess the Asus/Acer 34" 100hz IPS 1440p ultra wide without ULMB will then be the safest option for mixed surfing/gaming.
But I still prefer the Z35...
Hi all,
I have 2 ULMB questions please :
1/ Does using ULMB tire your eyes more of give any headaches or such?
2/ I read ULMB is great in games if the GPU can give you 120fps but what about desktop?
As someone who never used ULMB, it sounds great to use it in desktop.
I would love smooth...
Ok, thanks for the input guys.
I guess I'll get the x34 , the updated conclusion (TFT central) now says that Acer fixed the banding issue.
Comparing oled & ips is indeed like comparing the starship Enterprise to the nasa shuttle Enterprise. Just silly and pointless.
The X34 does not have ULMB, could someone with experience with ULBM please tell me his/her experience in desktop use?
I had G-sync for gaming & ULMB for desktop in mind for my next monitor so now I'm considering the Z35, except I'm a bit afraid of the 1080p.
Review is up :-)

Looks quite good except the banding & no ULMB... I've no experience with ULMB, would you say it's usefull in desktop use?
I guess I would use G-sync when gaming or what are your experiences please?
Arrg what to get...
I loved the static use of the monitor & deep blacks but returned it due to the lack of smoothness while gaming. I have a 120hz laptop and so I've been spoiled ;-) .
You need to experience a high refresh rate monitor for a while (not 2 minutes in a store) and then go back to 60hz to really...
Thanks Martha , I was looking forward to some firsthand experience with this panel.
I have one big question please : " Do you think the pixel density will bother me in desktop / surfing the web coming from a 26" 1200x1920? "
I think I could live with it in gaming since DSR can help if needed...
in this article a link is posted to a msg from acer saying that it's 75hz.
But because the G-sync module is oc'd in this model it can do 100hz with G-sync.
Great news , but a pity that it's only 75hz... why only with the G-sync module? Can G-sync not be used in desktop...
Same here ... I love the contrast of VA vs all the IPS glow etc of the XB270HU
Unfortunatly I cant find any high refresh rate VA monitors except the new 35" 2560x1080 144hz .
The panel is used in the BenQ XR3501 & the still to be launched Acer Z35 that I prefer because it adds Gsync.
I might...
You are right considering a 1080p, I should have mentioned I now have a 26" 1200x1920, so 16x10.
see : http://www.displaywars.com/35-inch-21x9-vs-26-inch-16x10
Then the height is exactly the same (within 0.01) but the ppi will be slightly worse on the 35" 1080p.
It's included in this list:

This video is in German but the guy also says it has G sync.
B.t.w. it's the Z35 iso X35... finger trouble ;-)
Edit : english...
