Max 24/7 2500k voltage on water cooled?

Im at 4.9ghz at 1.40v; and could do 5.1 on 1.5v. When i was at 1.4v my max temp was 54; and 1.5v my max temp was 57. I gusss the question is if this chip is a heat based frying risk or internal? Ive got really good watercooling .... so this sucker will probably be cooler than most non-OC'ed...

Max 24/7 2500k voltage on water cooled?

Hey guys - Ive seen a bunch of conflicting data on this; it appears that some believe that the 2500k chip starts to fail if run above 1.45 volts and others say 1.5 volts is fine. I am currently stable at 5.1 at 1.5 volts and max cpu temperature of 57c. Does water cooling allow you to...

Possibly the dumbest question, ever ...

Yeah; I used to have an old PSU that I kept just for this ..... and accidentially threw it out when I started collecting too many old PSUs. Oops! Thanks for the help folks!

Possibly the dumbest question, ever ...

.... so Ive had a good water build which lasted me almost five years. In that time -- I didnt do much. Would ocassionally drain the water and put in new distilled. But I never re-did any of the hoses, added components, etc Im still a little stunned at how easy the system was t live with. So...

upgrade i7 930 to sandy or ivy worth it?

yup --- I just upgrades from an e6600 and 4850s in crossfire. Game manufacturers are making games playable (and well) without pushing the envelope. 5-10 years ago, I feel like you always needed a new machine every two years to play .... now a good box will last for 5 years

How hard is it to remove the 7970 heatsink?

So I just bought the Heatkiller cooler and I am excited to get my GPU under water. However, Ive read a few stories about how difficult it is to remove the stock cooler on this board ... any advice? I typically upgrade sloooowly ..... Ive only had three GPUs under water (1900xtx ... that...

So about to pull the trigger; any last thoughts

Yeah, that was when 2 gigs was out of control. I found my ram from my previous build in my junk box .... two 250 megs (or 248?). Going from 500 megs to 2 gigs was just crazy! It cracks me up to think that my GPU has more ram than my current machine.

So about to pull the trigger; any last thoughts

Yeah - its funny, I dont think 'now' is ever the time for a new build as there is ALWAYS something better coming out soon. Whether its a GPU, CPU, MB .... 'just wait X months' In this case, the decision was made for me as my computer died and I wasnt going to wait, without a computer, for the...

So about to pull the trigger; any last thoughts

Just odered. I am so psyched. My last build lasted me so many years ... the e6600 was really a wonderful chip. I think the only error i am doing is OVER buying the PSU. Thats been the one thing that I have had to keep upgrading multiple times over the years as my GPUs got bigger ... so I...

So about to pull the trigger; any last thoughts

So my last build was in 2006: 1. e6600 2. P5H Deluxe Board (had to buy offf ebay due to the demand from the e6600s) 3. Current graphics cards: 4850s in crossfire 4. Corsair 625 watt powersupply 5. 4 gigs ram 6. Watercooled everything The build was amazing; I orginally started off with...

    Oops

So, water cooling has been easy that I have totally forgotten about it. Now that I am looking to upgrade my rig, I started reading these forums and realize I have done NO maintenance of my cooling system. I think the last time that I flushed it out / changed tubes was in 2007 .... what is the...

    $650 Performance for $400 or $400 performance for $650?

Just posted this in another thread, but its worth reposting. Best Buy is selling Visiontech 4850's for $149 each. No rebate, etc. On page 22 of their weekly flier they are offering 25% off all visiontech graphics cards. So $199 * 75% = $149. So $300 for a crossfire combo Seems like a pretty...
