Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
This evening or at the very least tomorrow, I'll post un update with my actual voltages and other BIOS settings.
One thing seems to be consistent: the more I keep the board overclocked, the more is stable and all... I've managed to lower all the voltages a bit from the beginning, and the RAM...
Now I got this:
Apparently doing nothing... except stressing the system for stability with Prime95 for more than an hour and with the stability test of Everest... it reached 55°C on the CPU!!!
I think it's stable... but I'll keep on testing.
Dude, just got the same board and same CPU!
What kind of RAM do you have?
With mine I'm having a hard time even getting the RAM to go at its rated speed of 1066mhz (just look at my other thread here for updates and the rest of the config).
I've experienced a LOT of BSODs and freezes...
I've played with the timings a bit... got 1066 with 6-6-6-18 and 2.35V
This is the best I can do so far... I'm yet to test it for stability, though.
I've bumped the FSB to 300 too...
It seems that the whole rig needs only some burn-in...
Stay tuned.
Ok, guys... it's been a long time since I posted something in the good ol' [H]Forum... and it's a shame I have to do it asking for help.
I just got my new rig assembled... the configuration is as follows:
Asus P5N32-E Sli (not the Plus)
Q6600 G0 stepping
2x 1Gb OCZ Reaper HPC 8500
Sparkle...
It would be a good idea to re-arrange the cards as they used to be before the case change.
If it doesn't work, try to re-arrange the power connectors to every device... sometimes it makes some difference.
The last chance is trying to boot from a previous configuration:
at windows XP...
Before starting to warm up the jigsaw, I decided to take a chance and try a good old method of mine.
I removed the wireless LAN card... I fogot to mention that particular piece in the configuration...
Well: I played "Colin 4" for almost 3 hours without a problem!.... since it crashed.
But...
This evening I'll take out the whole system and try to run in free-air for a while... just to see if it's the case that fools me.
Oh man, I hoped to avoid this.... but I'm forced to!
Tried all Catalyst from 3.5 up to 4.5....
... and I'm using DirectX 9.0b....
The curious thing is that everything started when I changed case.... that's why I think about an electrical/mechanical problem, rather than a software problem.... :(
Ok, I know what's next: somebody...
Hi guys,
I'm not really a "newbie" to this forum.... but leaved for a while, and now I had to register myself again.
Let's go right to the point.
I recently changed case, switching form a Chieftec big-tower case w/ 320W PS to a smaller, midi-tower case w/ 400W PS, aluminium made.
The...
